Whose Words Have Power? — Part II

Now let’s turn from the question of Whose Words? to our walk to how we preach the gospel to the lost as ambassadors. Do we use God’s Words or man’s? Let’s find out.

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Only God’s Word has power to save a lost person. Why do preachers/believers use man’s? Is there any power in man’s word to convert a lost person? Is there the danger of a false conversion if we use man’s words?

Romans 1:16 says God’s Word has power to save, not man’s. Let us not think our own words and thoughts can move a person to salvation- only God can do that by the Holy Spirit through His Word.

Isaiah 55:8-9 – For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

1 Corinthians 1:17-18 – For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
